Before Pics of our New Home

Hey friends! So, this has been a long time comin’. My husband and I have lived in our current house for almost 4 years. However, we never really felt settled. I think a year after we moved in I had the house listed for sale. It was never about the house, but about location and function. I obviously love my current house, I made a whole Instagram and blog dedicated to it, but I could never picture our future here so we were always on the hunt for somewhere else.  It’s funny how things work out though because the house didn’t sell for a while and we couldn’t find a home that was worth moving to, until now. Our new house is everything we were missing. It’s in a neighborhood, with kids that actually play outside! A small (but mighty) school system and an entryway. Yep. I’ll admit it, I hated that when you walked into my current house you walked into the living room, literally. Currently, we have about a week left before we have to be out of our house and into the new one. The house was in pretty good condition, but there were some things I wanted to make my […]

If you know me at all you know I had a wish to decorate a little girls room. Being a boy mom and loving to decorate, it was just on my list of things to do. So, when my cousins asked me to help them with their little girls’ room, the answer was a no brainer. YES, OF COURSE, I’LL HELP!!! They were super cool about it too, totally let me take the wheel and do what I wanted. I can happily check it off the bucket list, that at least I got to do this once! I hope you all like it as much as I do. I’m calling it Modern Shabby Chic because it is just that. Some of the art work and the wall paper is more on the modern side and then we paired it with chalk painted furniture, pretty blush pinks, and some romantic accents. The furniture was actually Vivi’s moms when she was a little girl. I gave it a fresh coat of paint and it’s like brand new! I love how this room turned out and it will grow with her for years to come. I think that’s so important with kids rooms. As […]

Hey all! I wanted to share a really simple Mother’s Day craft my kids made for their grandmoms! It was so easy, a little messy, but a lot of fun! I got this wallpaper adhesive made by Paper Riot Co they have a bunch of different styles and it is so easy to work with! I heard this before I actually tried it and I have to say I was skeptical because I am not one of those people that have patience for tedious things, but it wasn’t tedious, it really is super easy to work with! So, all I did here was buy one of these little canvases from a local craft store, I chose 8×10 but if you have more than two kids or kids with bigger hands, you can buy a bigger size. Paper Riot sheets come 20×16 so just don’t exceed that. Then you need scissors to get started. I simply cut the decals to the size of the canvas then covered the canvas with it.   So, now you have a super cute canvas and the possibilities are really endless! You can simply print out a photo and write mom on the canvas with cute […]
